KAMM ISLAND FEST

July 18, 2018
5:00PM - 9:30PM

What a way to make your Wednesday wonderful! The Kamm Island Fest is back for its 15th year Wednesday, July 18, from 5 to 9:30 p.m., turning Kamm Island Park in Mishawaka into party central for the 21-and-over crowd. The admission is just $5 for an evening that is loaded with live music, a classic car show, motorcycle show, art festival, food and more.

The setting itself along the St. Joseph River in tree-shaded Kamm Island Park makes an ideal spot for a summer celebration. The 7.5-acre oasis complete with riverside walking trails has been called one of the most beautiful spots in town. To get to the festival, visitors enter the island by bridges, have their IDs checked, and then are given wristbands. After that, they’re free to wander the park throughout the festival, enjoying libations and good food along the way.

New this year is a special, limited VIP ticket option. With this $50 entry ({$45 if purchased in advance), guests get a swag bag filled with useful items for festival night and beyond, 20 food and drink tickets, exclusive entry to the VIP tent for special food and drink options, and a dedicated line at other drink stations. VIP tickets are limited, so purchase yours early.

Of course, the music is a huge draw and the centerpiece of the festival. The popular band BLAMMO takes the stage, performing songs from the 1960s through today in an energetically charged show. You can spend the evening enjoying the music from your lawn chair or blanket, but it seems like adults of all ages can’t resist the urge to get up and dance the night away. The Sandbar Bums are back, too, bringing their tropical rock to the stage and delivering hits from groups such as the Stones, Eagles, and Zac Brown Band.

But there’s more! Classic auto enthusiasts will love the Vintage Car Show, which has gotten bigger every year. Browse and buy paintings and crafts at the Artists’ Village. You’ll be able to sample tasty fare from nearly a dozen favorite local restaurants as the Taste of Mishawaka, sponsored by Visit South Bend Mishawaka, adds a delicious dimension to the festival.

For many people, the festival is a highlight of summer – meeting old friends, making new ones, vegging out or getting their groove on. And while you’re having a blast, you’re also helping festival sponsor Mishawaka Business Association do some good. With the money raised, the association provides grants for local nonprofit organizations. So come on for a mid-week blast like no other
