Central Beach is a nice secluded two mile beach and stretching below Mount Baldy, one of the largest dunes in the area! This beach also has many different bike trails that weave in and out of the sand covered forests that have been created by blowing sand. Mount Baldy is one of the largest dunes in the area, towering over Lake Michigan at an impressive 123 feet! Mount baldy is also a living dune that continues to get bigger and bigger every year. Active Beach goers will enjoy the challenging climb to the top of this dune and be impressed by the breathtaking views. See Lake Michigan at its best, the Michigan City Lighthouse, and on a clear day, you can see Chicago in the distance! Mount Baldy also has many trails that weave through the unique sandy oak forests. Walkers unable to make it to the top of Mount Baldy still have the chance to enjoy the 2 miles of beach to walk. For more information click here.
