October 19 - October 20, 2019
Join us for Gathering at Five Medals annual reenactment of Midwestern Life from 1660 to 1815. Visit the woodland Indian Village, Merchant’s Row, and the River Rogue camp and see the canon demonstration, throw tomahawks, and much more!
In the wild prairies and forests nestled beside the Elkhart River, the people gathered. They spoke in different tongues – the languages of the Potawatomi, Colonial French, and the diverse dialects of settlers from northern lands.
Some would battle for the land, with the roar of flintlock and cannon fire ringing out through the prairie. Others would come for trade, exchanging furs, handmade wares, wool, and treasures from their homelands.
All would leave with stories that would piece together the history and rich heritage of Northern Indiana.
