Pumpkins, Trails, and Treats: Family Friendly Halloween

In Lowell, the Pumpkin Glow Trail at Harvest Tyme Family Farm dazzles visitors with thousands of LED lights and jack-o’-lanterns.  The Halloween Market in Chesterton adds seasonal charm with pumpkin decorating, a kids’ costume parade, trick-or-treating at vendor booths, and festive crafts. All Aboard the NYC Railroad Museum

 

 

 

The National New York Central Railroad Museum in Elkhart,  preserves the rich history of the NYC railroad system. Founded in 1987, it features indoor exhibits—including a 1915 coach—and outdoor displays like NYC Mohawk steam locomotive #3001 and an E-8 diesel. Visitors also enjoy interactive model railroads and the restored NIBCO Century Flyer amusement train ride.
