In Lowell, the Pumpkin Glow Trail at Harvest Tyme Family Farm dazzles visitors with thousands of LED lights and jack-o’-lanterns. The Halloween Market in Chesterton adds seasonal charm with pumpkin decorating, a kids’ costume parade, trick-or-treating at vendor booths, and festive crafts. From the Wakarusa Pumpkin Tree to the Hesston Ghost Train and beyond, the region is packed with festive events, giving families plenty of opportunities to enjoy a full season of Halloween fun throughout Indiana’s Cool North.
Steam Powering the Past at Hesston’s Living History Museum

The Hesston Steam Museum preserves the region’s industrial past with working steam locomotives, vintage tractors, and antique machinery. Founded by enthusiasts in the mid-20th century, it highlights the vital role steam power played in shaping local agriculture, industry, and transportation, offering visitors a glimpse into Northwest Indiana’s rich history.
