Michigan City’s Lakefront – Beaches, Dining and a Zoo Too!
A glorious stretch of Lake Michigan sets the vibe for beachside fun and lots of nearby activities in energetic Michigan City, which hugs the shoreline. Nearby the Indiana Dunes invite exploring.
Boats bob in the marina, and visitors often board a charter to fish for big catches. Nearby restaurants offer an array of dining options. Washington Park Zoo, built on a sand dune, is home to everything from lions and tigers to alligators and bald eagles, plus a petting barn. Visitors love a see-through tunnel where they can watch otters swim.
