Michigan City’s Lakefront – Beaches, Dining and a Zoo Too!
A glorious stretch of Lake Michigan sets the vibe for beachside fun and lots of nearby activities in energetic Michigan City, which hugs the shoreline. The city’s iconic lighthouse seems to stand guard over swimmers and sunbathers who head for wide, sandy Washington Park Beach and perhaps a picnic in the shady park itself. Nearby the Indiana Dunes invite exploring.
Boats bob in the marina, and visitors often board a charter to fish for big catches. Nearby restaurants offer an array of dining options.
