Heron Rookery Trail

In springtime, the woods along the Heron Rookery Trail are carpeted with the most extensive display of spring wildflowers in the national park, including trillium, Dutchman’s breeches, hepatica, and mayapple.

This 1.6 mile trail is also a good spot for bird watching, even though the heron rookery is no longer active.
