Shiojiri Niwa - a Japanese Garden
This Japanese strolling garden symbolizes the Sister-City relationship between Mishawaka, Indiana and Shiojiri City, Nagano Prefecture, Japan.
The garden has over 20 different varieties of large plant material, over 200 large boulders, a donated statue and a teahouse pavilion.
The purpose of a Japanese Garden is to present natural forms and to create a tranquil beauty that leads the visitor from everyday life to a calm, serene, reflective communion with nature.
