We have searched through our Top 15 lists and pulled together ten things to do if you want to get out, but are not ready to travel by plane. Most are outdoor, some completely on your own in your car, and others are for smaller groups. We encourage you to follow current guidelines for face masks, hand washing and social distancing.
Quilt Gardens on the Heritage Trail – See Patterns Burst into Bloom in Elkhart County
Supersized gardens planted in quilt designs give visitors an exciting, unique, and free way to view the patterns that are so much a part of history in Indiana’s Cool North. More than a million vibrant blooms go into creating these living displays in 16 gigantic gardens that change each year along Elkhart County’s Heritage Trail, a winding loop that also passes through welcoming communities, and features area attractions and Amish life. The drive was voted a USA Today Readers Choice and named one of America’s Most Scenic Drives. The trail also includes 4 hand-painted supersized quilt murals. (The gardens are on display from the end of May to mid-September)
